What could be better than homemade products? Two completely affordable ingredients make a wonderful cucumber salad with mustard. You open such a jar in winter, and from there the breathtaking smell of summer: cucumbers, onions ... Turmeric will give a beautiful sunny color and an unforgettable aroma.
Ingredients
- Cucumbers - 1 kg
- Onions - 500 g
- Salt - 1 tsp (with a slide)
- Granulated sugar - 1.5 hours (with a slide)
- Vinegar - 5 tbsp. (dining room)
- Ground turmeric - 0.5 tsp.
- Black peppercorns - 4 pieces
- Mustard seeds - 2 tbsp l.
Preparation
- We take products.
- Soak the cucumbers in cold water for 2 hours. So they are better washed, saturated with moisture, bitterness leaves them.
- Rinse the vegetables. Using a peeler, thinly cut the skin. And cut the cucumbers into halves. If the fruits are small, slices can also be made.
- We clean the onion, wash, remove moisture with paper towels. Cut into thin half rings. We put it in a saucepan.
- Fill with salt.
- Mix and send to a cool place for 2 hours.
- Next, add sugar, ground turmeric, black peppercorns, table vinegar to the pan.
- Stir the ingredients in a saucepan and send everything to low heat. We heat, stirring occasionally. After boiling, cook for 4 minutes.
- At the same time, we prepare salad jars. We thoroughly wash the containers with soda, rinse and sterilize with clean water. Be sure to boil the lids for about 5 minutes.
- We put the finished salad in sterile jars, distributing the marinade. We close with screw or metal covers. Wrap it upside down and cool at room temperature. We hide it for storage.
