A summer drink with a delicious taste of carelessness - a compote of apricots and cherries can be prepared for the winter. Simple actions, affordable products and a little time are all it takes to make the whole family happy with the result. And it will be pleasant to open a jar with a bright treat given by nature at times of snow.
Ingredients
- Apricots - 200 g
- Cherries - 100 g
- Granulated sugar - 150 g
- Water - 0.6-1.2 l
Preparation
- We take products.
- We sort cherries and mine. It's good if you have fresh berries.
In the event that they have already moved away, you can take it out of the freezer and use it for rolling.
Leave the berries to dry on a towel.
- We sort and wash the apricots and remove the seeds from them. It is convenient to do this with a ballpoint pen. With one end we press into the hole for attaching the fruit to the branch, push the bone. It turns out a neat whole apricot without a kernel. When all the fruits are prepared, dry them.
- Wash cans with soda, sterilize in a proven way: on the stove, in the microwave or in the oven. Put the lids in a saucepan and cook for 5 minutes. In a prepared jar (1.5 liters), pour half the cherry.
- We also send all the apricots and the remaining cherries there.
- Pour in sugar. Its amount can be reduced or increased to your liking. It does not affect the shelf life of the workpieces.
- Boil water in a kettle. It is difficult to indicate the exact amount, since the size of the fruit is different and more or less water can fit in the jar. Pour boiling water into a jar of fruit, being careful not to get water on the glass. Otherwise, it may crack. We fill the jar to the very top.
- Pour warm water (40-60 degrees) into a saucepan. At the bottom we place a towel or cheesecloth folded in four. We set the jar, covered with a boiled lid, and send it to the fire. After boiling water in a saucepan, boil for 10 minutes and turn off the heat.
- We carefully remove the jar from the water. We roll it up with a special key.
If the covers are screw, just tighten them tightly.
- Turn over and cover with a warm towel, blanket. Leave to cool.
- Store the finished apricot and cherry compote in a cool place.
